Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home Receives 2012, 2013 and 2014

Best of Milford Award

Milford Award Program Honors the Achievement

MILFORD October 18, 2012 -- Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home has been selected for the 2012 Best of Milford Award in the Funeral Directors category by the Milford Award Program. Each year, the Milford Award Program identifies companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the Milford area a great place to live, work and play. Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2012 Milford Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the Milford Award Program and data provided by third parties.

About Milford Award Program

Recognition is given to those companies that have shown the ability to use their best practices and implemented programs to generate competitive advantages and long-term value.

The Milford Award Program was established to recognize the best of local businesses in our community. Our organization works exclusively with local business owners, trade groups, professional associations and other business advertising and marketing groups. Bereavement Group:  Finding Comfort in Our Time of Loss

Any and All are Welcome

Coping with the loss of a loved one has no set time frame.  There are moments when we seem to be managing just fine and then there are moments when we continue to struggle.  Holidays, life-cycle events and everyday living can at times feel overwhelming.  Please come join us as we support one another in a shared loss, yet knowing that our grief experiences are unique to us.  Laughter and tears are equally welcome.  Jan Cowles, facilitator, is the Bereavement Coordinator for Constellation Hospice in Orange, CT.  There is no charge for the groups, but pre-registration is required.  Please call Jan at 203-497-3872.  You are warmly invited to attend…all you need to bring is yourself…that is the courageous first step.

Locations:  ~Orange Senior Center (affiliation NOT required), 10-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays, Room 2.  First and Third Tuesday of the month (unless there is bad weather ~Constellation Health Services, 240 Indian River Road, Orange 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, 8 week sessions.  Please call for date of next session. “The reality is that you will grieve forever.  You will not ‘get over’ the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it…You will be whole again but you will never be the same…nor would you want to.”  ~ Elizabeth Kubler-Ross and John Kessler

At Constellation Hospice, we understand that grief is unique to each person who experiences a significant loss. Sometimes it helps to talk with someone about your loved one and the feelings you are experiencing around the death. Emotions may overwhelm you: confusion, fear, loneliness, anger, depression, despair, paralysis, to name a few. It is no wonder that grief is exhausting work. Our compassionate team at Constellation Hospice is here to listen and we welcome your call - whether it is a single call of reassurance or something more. A conversation may help you discern what you need right now. Please contact Constellation Hospice at 203-497-3888 and ask for the Bereavement Coordinator or visit
