Livia Luz Correa de Jansson, age 83, took God’s hand on December 17, 2018. She was born March 7, 1935 in Caguas, Puerto Rico to Mariano Correa and Adelina Muñoz. She came to New York when she was 14 years of age and spent her youth-ful years in the Bronx, New York where she earned a bachelors degree from Lehman College and met her husband, Roy Jansson. Livia and Roy spent 45 exciting years dancing through life. They danced their way up to Bridgeport, Connecticut where they raised their three amazing children; Jacqueline Lee, Dexter Charles and Janelle Maria. Livia earned a masters degree at the University of Bridgeport. She taught at the elementary and collegiate level. Livia also worked for the State of Connecticut as a social worker until retirement. Livia loved life and will be remembered for her abundance of energy and vibrant personality. She was feisty, spunky, caring and spirited. She truly lived by one of her favorite sayings, Live Love Laugh. Livia was a force to be reckoned with and would fight fiercely for what she thought was right for her family. She always had a smile on her face and was full of laughter, even during her last days. She’s an adored friend, wife, mother and grand-mother who always lived her life to the fullest. Livia will truly be missed.

Calling hours are Friday December 21, 2018 from 5pm to 8pm at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 22, 2018 at 9:00am at Saint Mary R C Church, 70 Gulf St, Milford. Interment will follow in St. Raymond’s in the Bronx, NY.
