When he was 16, he won a model building contest, the prize being a series of flying lessons, which led to a life-long love of flying. He proudly served in the Army Air Corps and he flew Stearman PT 17 biplanes and taught American and French cadets how to fly during WW II in Orangeburg, South Carolina where he met his wife Doris. After the war they moved to CT. to be closer to Al’s family. He worked as a salesman for many years at the Griffith Company in Bridgeport, CT.
Al was an excellent photographer and was a member of the Milford Camera Club and its’ President for many years. He also enjoyed wood working and loved to travel to the southwest with his wife.
He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and grandfather and valued his family above all else. He will be sorely missed.
