To the Marshall Family:
I met George in 1976-77 when I began my Medical Training at Yale New Haven Hospital. Whenever we met, George had a large smile, a great handshake, and usually a funny story to share. He was very proud of his family and always gave me an update. I remember him telling me that he was a member of the Governor's Guard and was very proud to participate in civic events. All in all, George was a one of a kind person. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Evelyn, I am so sorry to hear of George's passing. He was a one of a kind individual who I was honored to call my friend. I can remember it like it was yesterday asking him to serve on the Milford RTC and serve he did. I truly wonderful man who will be sadly missed.

Please accept my condolences from one who knew him long ago. When we were both young and both lived in The Hill we became friends. Along with Bummy Moore we worked together at the Hill Sanitation Department for three years in the late 1960s. I came to know Sally Marshall and Ernie McClain and so many others from that time. George was quiet, intelligent, friendly, with a great sense of humor. I moved from New Haven in the early 70s but would see him when visiting Yale-New Haven hospital when he worked there over the years. My memories of George and his sister Stephanie are uniformly warm. If others from that long ago time read these words, I'd love to hear from you (

Dear Mrs. Marshall, please except my heartfelt sympathy in the passing of George. For a very long time when I worked at Yale University he was the policeman that let everybody in ( or not in) to the building on Park St. he was truly one of the most unique individuals I have ever met. There was no subject in this world that George would not talk about - Every town, every state, every politician. Depending upon what the news was at that given time, it was always great to get him started. He always made it fun to go to work and start your day. I am sorry for his loss and he will always be in my prayers . Joan Scarveles
